Margaret Place is built for the discerning partier. The historic 1854 Greek Revival townhouse is focused on its classic New Orleans courtyard, hidden away from the park giving the venue its name. Interwoven beneath the lovingly restored architecture are strata of the technical infrastructure to support international-quality parties. That capability, the beauty of the space, our central location, and our unparalleled flexibility make us the choice for industry professionals and others seeking a distinctly New Orleans event without compromise.

Uniquely Permissive

Except for the bar, Margaret Place is a fully “open venue” where you can use any caterer, planner, or other vendor free from punitive fees and restrictions. Unlike other venues, we love a challenge and delight in seeing the space used in unusual ways. Our experience hosting a whole variety of events means that we know how to stretch the space. This is your party; our default answer is always “Yes, and”.

Uniquely Capable

People love being in our lush courtyard; we could have stopped there. Instead, we purposefully renovated the space over six years to National Park Service Standards to be the perfect venue. We layered in clever engineering to conceal the capabilities of a mid-sized state-of-the-art music venue within that historic fabric, there when you need it, gone when you don’t. Then, we furnished the space with custom furniture produced by Curious Form in the Bywater to support flexibility within contemporary interiors that are minimal enough to let your decor and branding take center stage.

Uniquely Effortless

We’ve done the work ahead of time. Each event at Margaret Place includes a planning session, allowing us to pass on the best practices we’ve learned from our 140+ prior events of all types. Our documentation and resources are comprehensive for those looking to dive in, but we’re also continuously refining and simplifying. The result is that we’re straightforward and easy to work with. In-house furniture, tenting, sound, lighting, and security are all included, and we even offer all-inclusive packages.

Uniquely About You

All of our major events are “exclusive use”; no hotel guests or others on-site. We offer weekend buyouts, full clears, and even white-labelling. For couples, we include two rooms for day-of use, which is part of a larger emphasis on your day-of experience enabled by our walkable and photogenic neighborhood.

Margaret Place is on your team. We’re here to disrupt a stale industry and elevate partying in a town known for it. This is not so much a venue as it is a love letter to the city from lifelong New Orleanian and owner-architect Trenton Gauthier. We even make this next part easy: you can see our live rates and availability here. No back and forth emails, no surprises. We developed our own algorithm that takes into account historic weather trends, city-wide and national events, and anticipated occupancy to price each available date fairly.

  2. Book a personal tour, in-person or virtual.
  3. If it’s a match, secure your date with $1,500 upfront.
  4. Everybody gets 1 free planning session with candid advice on making the most of your wedding here.
  5. You don’t owe us any additional payment until 90 days out.
  6. 30 days before: final payment and event details due.
  7. Party.
  8. After: membership into our “Spousal Society” with lifelong discounts and perks.
